EMU is a non-profit, multipurpose cultural space that supports experimentation in the arts, mainly in visual fields but also in areas such as architecture, music, dance, and film. Artists and planners with creative ideas and an experimental spirit are selected and given the means to produce and exhibit feature works. Support is offered for various boundary-breaking experiments and activities, and the space itself transforms to suit the nature of the experiment - sometimes a gallery, other times a forum for generating discourse, other times an open-air market.
