Tonguidong BoanYeogwan(inn), located in the 1st street in Tongui-dong, has been always a ‘cultural space’. The culture and art space occupies the preserved edifice of a wooden inn built in 1936. Its focus is on relational and community art, including events, artistic and non-artistic, that seeks out connections between art and alternative lives of society and the individual art connected to life as a form of social practice. In this sense, self-described as ‘Accommodation of culture’, Tongui-dong Boan Yeogwan(Inn) has settled as an ‘A base for culture production’ where produces life-based and site-specific arts since 2007.
