Jungganjijeom is an artist-run exhibition space in Euljiro, Seoul, directed by four working artists.Jungganjieom occupies a cubic-shaped unit in an old office building in Euljiro, a neighborhood that was a prosperous industrial zone in the 1970s. As the name Jungganjijeom suggests, we are interested in exploring liminal states in the realm of visual art. The liminal states here include the possible conversations around an artist, their work, and space and the borderline between genres in visual art.We aim to put together an exhibition that seeks “a meaning in process,” rather than showcasing already completed works. Jungganjijeom is a space for young artists to exhibit experiments that will eventually expand the meaning of their practice.
