The 45th edition of FIAC will be held in Paris from 18 to 21 October 2018 and will host 193 galleries in the nave and exhibition rooms of the Grand Palais. As like its own identiy in visual art, the 2018 selection will be lined with mainly for modern art, contemporary art and design objects.
The fair will occupy Winston Churchill Avenue and the Petit Palais in Paris and presents outdoor works at the Jardin des Tuileries, Place Vendome in the city. It will be at Musee national Eugene Delacroix and for the first time FIAC inaugurates an ephemeral village of architectural projects on Place de la Concorde for FIAC Hors les Murs.
For the site Vendome, Elmgreen & Dragset will install 100 red starfish scattered around the square in the name of 〈To Whom It May Concern, 2018.〉 In contrast to traditional monumental public sculptures, the work adopts the horizontality of minimal land art and subtly takes over the plaza like a swarm of friendly intruders.
Meanwhile, As like other Art events, Festival of performances,Conferences, and Cinephemere will be programmed during the art event. Plus, with Exceptional installations, exhibitions will be presented to form an ensemble of historic and contemporary architecture and artists’ houses. It is very new type of inserted progrmas; ephemeral architecture, nomadic habitats, and utopian living spaces includes emblematic architectures by Jean Prouve, together with installations by Kengo Kuma or Daan Roosegaarde, among others. Many a trials to stay fringe will be there.
