The SongEun Art and Cultural Foundation proudly supports and promotes young, mid career contemporary Korean artists. In commemoration, one Korean artist is selected annually to hold a solo exhibition at SongEun ArtSpace. For our 8th edition, we are excited to present a solo exhibition of Juree Kim, who is also the Grand Prize recipient of the 10th SongEun ArtAward in 2010.

Through her works, Juree Kim is able to encapsulate the natural cycle of life, highlighting the notion of transience of time experienced within. All together, she captures the metaphors of life and death that arise as physical properties of natural elements interact with one another. This exhibition focuses on the arbitrary nature of shapes and their wetness, in which the theme explores the wet matters that breathe in life as a way to embody the sense of life awakened by soil and water, narrating the experience of being a part of a singular moment in a perpetual cycle.
