SongEun Art and Cultural Foundation proudly presents Woo Jung Hoh’s solo exhibition, Shade Left Behind, on exhibit from 19th November to 21st December as the opening show for SongEun ArtCube’s 2020-2021 program.

In this exhibition, Hoh presents 15 new experimental works that are publicly showcased for the first time. Beyond his usual artistic concept that predominantly explores feelings of anxiety and emptiness, the artist is able to translate his multidimensional view onto his two-dimensional works. Without erasing the thin pencil lines drawn on the canvas, the artist visualizes new figurative spaces by using oil paints as his main medium towards his own unique methodology. While he mainly created monochromatic works with white paints and pencil lines on a black background in previous works, Hoh has now included the use of primary colors in Shade Left Behind, which serves to more clearly distinguish the main subject from the background, granting a deeper and more profound sense of presence to the created spaces.
