MMCA presents 《DMZ Theater》, an art project that focuses on the various historic and locational contexts of the Demilitarized Zone(DMZ) that located between the North and the South Korea.

This project is collaborated by artist Jung Yeondoo and director Surya, who tries to extend the existing narratives of the DMZ in both an ideological and environmental context. 《DMZ Theater》 consists of 44 works of art including 24 photographs, 11 pieces of objects, 9 pieces of drawings and performance. They are based on the stories about the Korean War and the division. Through the interacting with objects, the viewers are able to experience the reality, history and myths of the DMZ.

"This exhibition is a very interesting interdisciplinary art project that reinerprets the hidden and vibrant stories of the DMZ through artistic practices" and "it can serve as an opportunity to further extend the meaning and narratives of the DMZ to view it as a cultural creation area where reality and imagination intersect."- Youn Bummo, the director of the MMCA

During the exhibition, the gallery will serve as the stage for performances. The performances are held every Wednesday and Saturday during the exhibition period at 4pm.(except 21st August). The advance booking is necessary via MMCA website.
