PKM Gallery is presenting 《We Where》, a solo exhibition of Young In Hong from January 19th to February 26th. In this exhibition, 8 new artworks of a sound installation and a large-scale embroidery work, 2 photo-score series are exhibited. The artist highlights the subject of "communities", as she recognizes the loss of a communal space that premodern folks believed to be real(sacred areas in which the spirits of living organisms including animals, humans, and plants could communicate through a natural connection, and etc).
Her embroidery work and an installation work can be found at the main hall, as it almost acted as a gateway between the spiritual world and the material world. Moreover, there is a sound installation that invites a pair of grandmother-grandaughter elephants. And throughout the gallery, works in a variety of media, such as silhouette drawing, embroidery work, felt pieces, scores, and a musical performance references specific time and space from the postwar modernization period in Korea can be found.
