“Making Lemonade 2.0: Towards a Sustainable Future for the Arts” is an on/offline conference continuing the “Making Lemonade” project that embarked in 2021 to create space for discussing the future of culture and arts. In its second year, “Making Lemonade” highlights climate change and seeks various methods and functions art may play towards a sustainable future. Through showcases, talks, and performances, we share case studies and ideas from arts and culture professionals and artists from Korea, France, and Germany, which will expand discourse on sustainable art. Simultaneously, this conference offers reflection on the effect of technological development on realizing sustainability in arts and culture fields.

Spanning three days in total, the first day of the conference introduces talks and performances from artists to explore the perspectives and roles of artists in climate change. On the second day, curators, cultural administrators, and other professionals leading the field in sustainability discuss implementing environmentally-friendly practice in the arts and culture field. Lastly, on the third day, civilian organizations and startups in art-related fields and beyond share their experiences to explore groundbreaking solutions to environmental problems.

Furthermore, “Making Lemonade 2.0” includes one performance session per day where an artist introduces their work. It begins with Stéfane Perraud’s Sylvia on the first day, followed by Chanil Jung's The Sheep Are Allowed to Roam Freely on This Land and Hojun Song's Miyeok Graffiti.
