Dates: 21 MAR 2019 – 24 MAR 2019
Venue: Tate Exchange, Tate Modern, London, UK

A multidisciplinary artist from South Korea, Seohye Lee held a drawing workshop ‘Many Shapes of Volumes’ at Tate Exchange, Tate Modern. Drawing on the desire to capture and contain sound, Lee has designed these sound objects to hold the environmental soundscapes within. The project utilizes both primitive materials and new technologies; the choice of ceramic significant in its timeless nature, along with the integration of modern audio technology within. Throughout her experience of hearing loss, Lee has continued to take inspiration from her illustration background and explore the ways in which sound can be transformed into a visual form. At Tate Modern, the audience was invited to listen and feel these unique soundscapes, and question their own experiences of sound.
