Yung Ma, Seoul Mediacity Biennale 2020 Artistic Director.

The Seoul Museum of Art(SeMA) appointed Yung Ma, the curator of the contemporary art and prospective creation department at the Centre Pompidou in Paris, as the artistic director for the Seoul Mediacity Biennale’s 11th edition. This edition will mark the first time that a foreign curator has been selected for the director position. He recently curated the solo exhibition of Cao Fei at the Centre Pompidou, and previously served as the associate curator of Moving Image at M+ Museum in Hong Kong. Yung ma has also co-curated the Hong Kong Pavilion at the Venice Biennale in 2009 and 2013. With a keen interest in various forms of moving images and ambiguous boundaries in the contemporary art scene, he will explore aspects of the current media landscape in relation to our contemporary condition with a global perspective.
