Forum A, the art journal publishing house, announced the relaunch of its art magazine, Forum A, under Editor-in-Chief Ahn Sohyun.
Begun in 1997, Forum A was originally the title of an alternative art journal and discussion club, which was associated with artists, art critics and curators. The magazine published its printed version from 1998 to 2005, then suspended publication after publishing electronically for 2 years. Since then, Forum A retained its name as a publisher that releases books produced by Art Space Pool. Now joining with new members, Forum A has organized a new discussion club and relaunched its art magazine.
In the first issue, Forum A particularly looks on the 11th Gwangju Biennale in 2016 and shares critical ideas that puncture through the art world. The first issue begins with the chapter “Forum A and Forum A” that gathers ideas from the old Forum A. The second chapter contains a tenacious critique of the 11th Gwangju Biennale, “The Eighth Climate (What Does Art Do?).”
Although Forum A will temporarily be published on an irregular schedule, the magazine will be issued regularly when the publication’s structure is settled.
