Interview with Suki Seokyeong Kang

Suki Seokyeong Kang
Suki Seokyeong Kang graduated from Ewha Woman’s University with a B.F.A and a M.F.A in Oriental painting and earned another M.F.A in painting at the Royal College of Art in London. After graduation, the artist has been working on painting and installation by employing a variety of media. Kang once presented an installation project where the artist builds up a pile of objet, finding a balance, and dubs a narrative by combining texts, and she has presented a number of solo exhibitions such as Polite Owl in the Valley at Gallery Factory and Grandmother Tower at Old House. She was awarded as the winning artist by Bloomberg New Contemporaries and participated in group exhibitions held at the Institute of Contemporary Arts and the Liverpool Biennale in the UK. Kang also won the Songeun Art Award in Korea in 2013 for her work titled MaeMaeJong. The artist is currently participating in the Nanji Artist Residency run by Seoul Museum of Art.   ​
